Presidents' Not Kings' Day Rally

There was an informal gathering in front of the Frederick City Hall on Presidents' Day where people expressed their outrage at the actions of the current administration. This event was not sponsored by Frederick Cares but captured the same feelings and passions that motivated the creation of our organization.
Frederick Cares Volunteer Fair

Frederick Cares organized a volunteer fair at the Clarion Inn in Frederick. Numerous local organizations attended and held workshops. The fair was opened by Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD-08). Photos from the event can be found on our Facebook.
Bridging the Divide: A Panel Discussion

Frederick Cares hosted a panel entitled "Bridging the Divide: Reaching Out to our Conservative Neighbors" to discuss how to communicate across the aisle. A video from the event can be found here.
Showing Solidarity with Our Muslim Neighbors

Frederick Cares supported Safe Haven Frederick's march to Support Our Muslim Neighbors. Safe Haven Frederick organized nearly 1,000 Frederick residents who marched to demonstrate our unity with the Islamic Society of Frederick. Special thanks to Catherine and Ben MacShane who organized that rally. We look forward to working with them as they establish a Frederick chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ).

Million Women's March

Frederick Cares, in cooperation with the Universal Unitarian Church on Elmer Derr Road, scheduled buses for transportation to the Million Women's March.

We have now filled a fifth bus! The UU is maintaining a wait list for bus seats. Many thanks to Rev. Dr. Carl Gregg, the Minister at the UU for his great work organizing additional buses.

On the Sunday after the election, over 200 people gathered in Baker Park to declare that we would stand together against hate.
